There are a few key things to keep in mind for your baby’s first photo session.
If you have any particular poses or props in mind please make sure you let Tricia or Beth know at least 48 hours in advance. We need adequate time to prepare. You may suggest up to 3 poses or props. You can send photos to Tricia or Beth so we can see what you are thinking.
We will want to capture all those sweet snuggly posses, so it is important to have a sleeping baby.Keep these few things in mind.
· My home studio will be very warm to keep baby cozy. It is a good idea to dress in layers. If you have chosen to have a lifestyle session in your home you will need to turn the heat up to 82 degrees.
· Please limit the amount of napping before the session. Try to keep baby alert for 60 min before the session.
· A full tummy is a must. It is nice if baby is fed right before you arrive so we can dive right in to the session.
· Keep in mind a newborn session can take up to 3 hours. I do not want anyone to feel rushed. We will have time for feeding breaks and clothing changes.
· Most of the photos will show off the baby’s sweet little birthday suit so try to dress your little one in loose clothing that will be easy to remove for the session. A zip up the front sleeper is great(with nothing but a diaper underneath , NO ONSIE) . Please remember not to put socks on your little one, we don't want any sock marks.
· I will be holding and posing the baby. You do not need to worry about a thing. However, you are welcome to stay nearby. Please feel free to bring a drink or a snack. It will be very warm and relaxing so don't be surprised if you even want to take a nap!
· Light colored clothing is best for mom and dad during the session. We want to maintain the sweet, simple look of the photos. However, if you prefer you can choose a coordinating theme. One idea is to use the colors of the nursery to coordinate everyone's clothing.
If you family uses a pacifier, please bring one to the session. It is very helpful for helping baby get comfortable.
If the session involves siblings, please bring a snack and a favorite toy for the older child. A white shirt and khakis or a simple white dress is the perfect outfit.
When you first arrive we will go over what to expect, finalize your package choice, and I will give you an overview of the workflow. Full session fee is due at the time of the sitting.
